Rocky Point Ice Cream's history began in 1997 in Port Moody, British Columbia, with Jamie and Yvette Cuthbert starting a small ice cream shop in a kiosk at Rocky Point Park. The kiosk was an adjunct to their kayak rental business. Over the years, the business expanded, eventually leading to a larger, purpose-built shop, a second location in New Westminster, a concession at Town Centre Park in Coquitlam, mobile scooping trucks, and wholesale partnerships. In 2013, they began making their own small-batch ice cream after attending a five-day boot camp at the University of Guelph. In 2021, they opened a larger production facility, allowing them greater control over their ice cream production.

Here's a more detailed look at their journey:
1997:
The Cuthberts started Rocky Point Ice Cream in a small kiosk in Rocky Point Park as a summer ice cream shop, sourcing their ice cream from another local operator.
2013:
The couple renovated their shop into a larger space, allowing them to begin making their own small-batch ice cream.
Expansion:
Rocky Point Ice Cream expanded to include additional shops, a concession, mobile trucks, and wholesale partnerships, serving a growing number of customers.
2021:
The Cuthberts opened a 7,500 sq. ft. creamery and canteen to better control production.
Local Sourcing:
Rocky Point Ice Cream is known for its commitment to using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients in their ice cream production.
2024:
The company announced the opening of a new shop in Port Coquitlam, further expanding their presence in the region.
Rocky Point Ice Cream has grown from a small kiosk in a park to a well-known ice cream brand in the Metro Vancouver area, known for its locally sourced ingredients and dedication to quality.
